The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has concluded that holding local polls without the Constitution amendment would trigger a conflict in the country.
A meeting of the alliance that took place at the central office of Tarai Madhesi Democratic Front, Bijulibazaar, today ended with the conclusion that the local polls should not be conducted before amending the Constitution.
Briefing the media about the meeting, the TMDP Vice-Chair Brishesh Chandra Lal said the party hoped that its demands would get addressed to some extent by the Constitution amendment and it wanted this to happen before the local polls.
